Post Placement
Once a child is placed in your home for the purpose of adoption, post-placement supervision begins. For a period of at least six months, your adoption caseworker will make home visits and write reports for the court about how the placement is progressing. This is a time for adoptive families to ask questions and receive support and referrals as needed. Your caseworker will be available to you by phone and email as well as during scheduled home visits. Any concerns about the placement should be addressed during this time. At the end of the post-placement period, a court hearing will be scheduled to finalize your adoption.
